SAMARITAN'S PURSE
Request for stationery for school children in Liberia
Over the next few months Samaritan's Purse Warehouse in Melksham will be collecting stationery for school children in Liberia. Writing materials enable children to go to school and have materials to work with.

They need note books, pencils, colouring pens and pencils, felt tip pens, rubbers, sharpeners, rulers, calculators, geometry sets, pens, colouring books and reference books.

If you have any items, please bring them into school by the end of this term and Samaritan's Purse will collect them. It's possible that parents' offices and businesses may have items that are surplus – all items are welcome.

Samaritan's Purse works all year round to support different areas in the world and they appreciate your support.

Can't Read. Won't Read! To be held on Monday 1st March at 7.30pm at Larkmead School in Abingdon.

This event is a collaboration bethween a bookshop (Mostly Books), Larkmead school, a publisher (Barrington Stoke) and two authors (Nigel Hinton and Joanna Kenrick). There will be experts on the evening to answer questions, resources and information to take away, and books on display written especially for struggling and reluctant readers.

Tickets cost £3 (two people from the same family only need to buy one ticket) and include refreshments. There will be various offers on books as well as free literature and resource packs to take away.

URGENT - CYCLE SAFETY TRAINING
FaringdonFuture Cycle Safety Training courses will be cancelled unless we have additional volunteers!

We are trying to arrange the next Cycle Safety Training Course however we are in need of additional volunteers to be able to run the course.

The next course for Year 5s is planned for terms 5 and 6 starting on 22nd April 2010. The sessions are currently held on Thursdays from 1-3pm (there is flexibility if you need to arrive late, leave early or miss a week). The courses are usually 7 weeks long.

You do not have to be a Year 5 parent to volunteer and we are especially keen to hear from year 4 parents/carers to enable them to be ready to lead or assist on courses next year.

If you are able to help, please contact the School Office. If you would like further information please speak to Rachel Rains or Joy Hay.

WITHOUT ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS THE COURSES WILL CEASE TO RUN!
